This project conducts a study on the impact of COVID-19 on food and energy systems in Central and Western Africa, and identify greening opportunities as well as assess the level of adoption of green technologies in the two sectors. The study will investigate the financial, business and research barriers to the adoption of green technologies in the food and energy sector and recommend solutions to overcome these challenges. It will further point out the synergies and trade-off between the food and energy sectors and how widespread adoption of green technologies can fastrack the attainment of food and energy security as well as key SDGs. The findings of this preliminary study are expected to lead to detailed and comprehensive studies on developing sustainable and resilient economies through greening.
