The United Nations University Institute for Natural Resources in Africa (UNU-INRA) is organising a farewell lecture for Dr Elias T. Ayuk (Director [out-going], UNU-INRA), as detailed below. The event will also serve to welcome newly appointed Director, Dr Fatima Denton, who assumes office in September 2018.
Topic: Mineral Resources Governance for Sustainable Development: A new framework
Date: Thursday 27 September 2018
Time: 2:00 pm
Venue: Fiesta Royale Hotel, Accra
The farewell lecture, Dr Ayuk’s last public delivery in his capacity as Director of UNU-INRA, provides platform for him to share research knowledge, learnings and experiences as he moves on following a successful eight-year tenure, while building on UNU-INRA’s communication and dissemination program.
The presentation will explore how mineral resources can contribute to sustainable development. It will also advocate for a new governance framework called the ‘Sustainable Development License to Operate (SDLO)’, which is anchored in the quadruple bottom-line approach.
NB: Participation in this event is strictly by invitation.
