The Human Security Programme in Northern Ghana, which has been jointly implemented by six UN agencies (UNDP, UNICEF, WFP, FAO, UNIDO and UNU-INRA), the Government of Ghana and other key stakeholders since 2009, will end in May 2013.
As part of activities to mark the official closing of the programme, and to provide a platform for knowledge and experience sharing, a human security conference will be held on 22–23 May 2013 in Accra, Ghana, under the theme of “The Quest for Human Security: Knowledge and Experiences from Ghana and Across the Globe”. A wide range of stakeholders — including researchers, practitioners, policymakers and other interested individuals — are expected to share their knowledge and experiences in human security at this conference so as to exchange innovative ideas, promote networking and forge collaboration towards human security.
