The Ghana Climate Innovation Center’s “Green Innovators Bootcamp” will be held at  Ashesi University College, in Accra, on the 27th and 28th February, 2015. This is an intensive two-day program for potential green businesses with innovative ideas, concepts, and products. The time is 8:00-18:00, each day.

The Bootcamp is being organised by InfoDev and SNV in partnership with Ashesi University, Ernst &Young and the United Nations University Institute for Natural Resources in Africa (UNU-INRA). Its aim is to equip selected entrepreneurs and SMEs with business training, mentorship, expert guidance and practical suggestions to refine and shape their business plans and marketing strategies.

The Ghana Climate Innovation Center (GCIC), when operational, will be an incubation hub designed to provide local clean technology ventures with financing, mentoring, training and business advisory services. It will establish regional institutional capacity that will support emerging entrepreneurs and new ventures involved in developing locally appropriate solutions to climate change mitigation and adaptation. Through its suite of services, networking activities, and financing mechanisms, the GCIC and its network of partners will provide a regionally driven approach to solving climate-related challenges and supporting economic development through job creation.

The Center will be managed and hosted by a world-class consortium led by Ashesi University in partnership with SNV, Ernst &Young, and the United Nations University Institute for Natural Resources in Africa (UNU-INRA). It is being supported by the World Bank, Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) and the Netherlands Government.
